Happy Birthday!
Well… not a real birthday. But, one month ago today, we officially started this experiment. We’re still making changes and adding features every day and we’re really excited to see where this goes. One month down, and hopefully a bunch more to go.
In other cool news, we got our first press the other day. The Commercial Appeal in Memphis put the 48 Hour Launch teams on the front of the business section. Caitlin was quoted a couple of times in the article.
We’ve already had our first tipps come in through the site. We can’t wait to see more happen. In just a couple of weeks we should have the site ready for beta mode. It’ll be neat to see how people start using the idea once we start spreading it around.
So we don’t have any birthday cake, but here’s our cool article.
Here we go.
We like people who do cool things on the internet. That’s what this whole project amounts to.
The internets are filled with awesome musicians, comedians, bloggers, designers, coders, photographers, interpretive dancers and digital hobos. One day we decided it would be cool if there were a way for us to give money to all of the people who fill our digital lives with win.
Not even a month ago we got our start at a Memphis event called 48 Hour Launch. We pulled together an awesome team and put together a skeleton frame of the site by the end of the weekend.
We’re still fleshing out that skeleton and making changes every day. We’re so excited to see where this can go and what people will do with it. We’d love to see artists able to support their work with the tips they get online.
We’d like to see people start to bypass the labels and publishers and start giving their money directly to the people who are actually creating something worth seeing. That’s why we made this site.
We’re constantly growing and changing. If you have any ideas that would make us better, let us know.
